About Julie

I have always been a writer. Even when years went by and I didn’t write a single word for myself, I was a writer. Eventually, that writer got restless and demanded her days in the sun.

That is why, in December 2010, I left a long-standing, well-paying, flexible job in which I had built up substantial knowledge and goodwill in order to pursue a career in writing. I write primarily children’s picture books, and you can find information about my completed works here. I also write personal essays and travel pieces, many of which become blog posts.

I do blog about the craft of writing, publication, and my own writing process, but I consider myself more of a “life” blogger. Like many others, I work every day on living the most fulfilling, creative and loving life I can, and I love that the blog helps me meet like-minded people walking the same path.

I live in beautiful Boulder, CO with my husband and two amazing children. Our daughter (age 8, alias: Em) and our son (age 5, alias: Jay) are a constant source of inspiration and joy.

Hi Julie, Nice to meet you! I’m one of the collective bloggers over at EMU’s Debuts, where you left a comment today. Your picture looked familiar so I came over to your page to read about you, and I see we are practically neighbors (I am in Longmont!) Now I’m thinking we must have crossed paths at local events at some point.

Yes, I’m on for “The Artists Way” but haven’t gotten the book yet. Am recovering from a diagnostic test but will order it tomorrow from Amazon. Will start when I get it. Am still doing the morning pages since my “Walking in this World” course/book came. Am glad you want to do it with me. How shall we support each other? I know I’l be visiting you when I can.
